In season between June to October. Traditional green "Fine beans" are the most common. However, white waxpod beans and even purple beans may also feature in your veg boxes. For best results, simply top and tail the beans and then boil for 5-8 minutes, until tender. Serve as they are as a side dish. Or how about mixing with boiled potatoes, flaked tuna, black olives and vinaigrette for a Salade Nicoise.
All varieties of fine beans are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K and manganese.
They'll keep for about 3-5 days in the salad compartment of the fridge.
Whenever possible we will source our fine beans from local North Devon producers. We will also source from other South-West markets in times of high demand.
