Spinach is an edible flowering plant in the family Amaranthaceae native to central and western Asia. Its leaves are commonly eaten as a vegetable, either fresh, frozen, canned, chopped, or dehydrated.


Store dry spinach, loosely packed in a bag in the salad crisper of your fridge for up to one week. To freeze, blanch the spinach, squeeze the water out, then divide into serving portions in freezer bags.


Spinach is a healthy Source: of fiber and contains many nutrients, including vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, folate , vitamin C, iron, manganese potassium, tryptophan other vitamins and minerals. Cooked spinach might retain many of these nutrients, but it’s often soggy, which can be unappetizing.
